New York Legalizes Gay Marriage

Gay marriage has always been a touchy subject. It's only legal in a few states MA, CT, IA, VT, & NH, but New York Govenor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill in to law late last Friday night that will allow gay couples to marry. New York is now the sixth and largest state to recognize same sex marriage. This now doubles the number of Americans who are eligible for legal gay marriages. Gay couples will be able to wed in New York as soon as July 24th of this year.

The success of the bill is due in part to two Republican Senators who declared their stance on the matter in the 11th hour. In a statement to the Associated Press, Senator Stephen Saland, who voted against a similar bill in 2009, said ”While I understand that my vote will disappoint many, I also know my vote is a vote of conscience.” Freshman Senator Mark Grisanti of Buffalo echoed Saland’s sentiments: ”I apologize to those I offend. But I believe you can be wiser today than yesterday. I believe this state needs to provide equal rights and protections for all its residents,” he said.

Are you against gay marriage? Or do you think it's about time other states start legalizing it?

Inside Out Burger

A twist on your normal burger. Instead of plain burgers with topping, just take the toppings & stuff them inside of the burger before cooking. The possibilities are endless.

Recipe:
1 1/2 pound ground beef, turkey, or venison (or a blend)
1/4 to 1/2 cup crumbled bacon (if desired)
1/2 to 3/4 cup of assorted “insides”, (such as cheese and veggies) chopped, crumbled, or diced fine
6 Hamburger Buns and Hamburger toppings

1. start out by placing crumbled bacon directly in the ground meat, mixing it in with the ground meat allows to put more stuff in the middle.
2. Mix ground meat and crumbled bacon (to taste) until the bacon is evenly distributed.
3. Using clean hands, make twelve 2 ounce balls of hamburger.
4. take one of the balls of hamburger & flatten
5. Place 1 1/2 tablespoons to 2 tablespoons of filling in the center of the burger.
6. Place another hamburger ball over the top of the filling & push down again.
7. & COOK! Cook these in a pan or on the grill. An electric grill is easier because it does not require turning the burgers. If you do not use an electric grill, cook these until half done, flip them over and let them finish. Do not repeatedly flip, flip, flip because they will fall apart.
8. Serve on buns with your favorite condiments & side dishes & ENJOY.

QOTD: Is Spanking Discipline, or Straight up Abuse?

Spare the rod, Spoil the child. What's your take?

Is spanking an effective method of discipline for kids? Is it a good idea? Does it really work? A judge in Texas told a woman in his courtroom "You don't spank children today." This was after the woman, Rosalina Gonzales plead guilty to "injury to a child" a felony charge. She was arrested in December when the paternal grandmother of her 2yr old daughter noticed some marks on her legs & decided to take her to the hospital. Gonzales didn't spank with a belt, or leave any bruises, but she was sentenced to 5 yrs probation & parenting classes.

Is that fair? What's your opinion on spanking? Is it discipline, or just straight up abuse?

Young Jeezy ft Lil Wayne Ballin

Take It For What it Is...

Embrace your beauty…and your booty if you have much of that too
This is something that every women must do
Cover your ears, and blind your eyes
When you hear people talk and point about your beautiful shapely thighs
Always remember those will talk and complain about what they may not have
Because at the end of the day, what they really want to say is damn…she’s bad
Arch you back and put a little pep in your step
Because you'll surely make them see things that they are bound not to forget
Smile a little more when they laugh and when they stare
Maybe it’s you eyes, your body, your mystic, your skin, maybe even your hair
All these things that they are so envious and jealous of
Girl don’t hide it, don’t be ashamed!
Flaunt it, love it ,embrace it

remember...

the more you push, the heavier the burdens.
the more you complain, the weaker you get.
the more you wait around, the less time you have to reach your destination.
the more you rely on people to help you out, disappointment becomes your best friend.
fact is, nothing will get you to your destination....

than your own determination.

Here's to the Start of Summer!

Summer

I like hot days, hot days

Sweat is what you got days

Bugs buzzin from cousin to cousin

Juices dripping

Running and ripping

Catch the one you love days

Birds peeping

Old men sleeping

Lazy days, daisies lay

Beaming and dreaming

Of hot days, hot days,

Sweat is what you got days.

Cell Phones May Cause Cancer?

After years of debate, World Health Organization (WHO) recently came to a conclusion that cell phone usage may pose a risk for brain cancer in humans. It was labeled a risk "2B" level, which consists of a long list of potential carcinogens, including items such as gasoline, coffee & picked vegetables.

Those are somethings we interact with on a daily level, so are they trying to say exposure to those things put you at risk for cancer? Do you believe talking on YOUR cellphone may put YOU at risk??
